Job summary

Smoking Gun Interactive Inc. in Vancouver is seeking a Lead Programmer to guide a team across multiple game projects. You will mentor juniors, own technical design, and ensure high quality, modular code while collaborating with the Technical Director to set a unified technology vision.

The role requires 5+ years in the game industry, expert C++/C# skills, and a track record of shipped titles. A hybrid work arrangement and strong problem-solving abilities are valued highly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a programmer in the game industry or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Shipped at least one game as a senior or lead programmer.
• Strong self-motivation and independent working style.
• Expert working knowledge of C++ and C#, Standard Library, and OO design.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Technical Director to establish a unified technology vision for the project.
• Produce high-quality, efficient, clean, and modular code.
• Mentor and train programmers and supervise a team.
• Plan, design and coordinate development and integration of systems.
• Assess, test, troubleshoot, and document software.
• Lead teams in software and embedded systems development.
