Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a high-impact Lead Engineer to guide multiple engineering teams in delivering a scalable PnL reporting platform. You will mentor developers, optimize performance, and collaborate with Risk Analysts, Front Office Traders, and executives to drive business value.

The role requires deep Java/JEE experience, Spring Boot microservices, and strong Big Data capabilities. You will act as a senior technical leader within a global team, shaping architecture and promoting best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technical leadership experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical software projects.
• 5+ years managing an engineering team.
• 8+ years of Java/JEE experience.
• 5+ years in the Spring tech stack and building microservices using Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of Scala/Spark.
• Strong experience with Hadoop, Spark, Parquet or similar Big Data technologies.
• Strong experience in a Linux environment.
• Experience designing and integrating with REST APIs.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience with RDBMS and fluency in SQL; Cassandra preferred.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD toolset, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Experience working within an Agile environment.
• Understanding of best practices and design patterns.
• Experience developing and managing highly scalable and low-latency systems.
• Good communication skills; ability to collaborate with a global team.
• Hands-on experience with market risk and/or PnL reporting is nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams delivering large-scale, mission-critical software and improve efficiency.
• Design and develop a scalable, resilient PnL reporting platform.
• Support Risk Analysts, Front Office Traders, and Senior Executives through the reporting platform.
• Manage multiple development streams and follow code promotion processes.
• Manage lower environments and ensure stability.
• Conduct design reviews and code reviews.
• Reverse engineer legacy code and optimize to address bottlenecks.
• Analyze production issues and provide permanent solutions.
• Promote best practices and CI/CD adoption.
• Drive transformation by automating processes, testing, and improving data quality.
• Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with PMs, business sponsors, and global teams.
