Role Overview :

We are seeking an accomplished M&A Partner with a proven track record and a minimum of fifteen years of experience in leading and executing complex mergers and acquisition transactions. As a vital member of our client's esteemed law firm, the M&A Partner will play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction, fostering client relationships, and driving business growth.

Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to our M&A practice group, setting strategic goals, and ensuring alignment with overall firm objectives.
  • Business Development: Spearhead business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, expanding client portfolios, and nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Deal Execution: Oversee the execution of high-value M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating agreements, due diligence, and regulatory compliance.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of lawyers, associates, and support staff, fostering collaboration and professional development.
  • Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging market dynamics, contributing thought leadership to enhance our practice.
  • Client Advisory: Provide strategic counsel to clients, advising on legal, commercial, and risk-related matters throughout the M&A lifecycle.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other practice groups (such as Tax, Corporate, and Finance) to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.

We are looking for a candidate with :

  • Minimum 15 years of experience as a lawyer in M&A in a high-caliber law firm practice
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • The ability to lead a fast-paced team
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Membership: Must be a member of the Québec Bar.
