Job summary

Xanadu is seeking a Lead Engineer to architect and build ultra-stable laser engines powering fault-tolerant photonic quantum computers. You will act as system architect and hands-on technical lead, shaping the long-term roadmap and bridging prototyping to volume production in an advanced optics lab.

You will guide a team of scientists and engineers, own system interfaces, and coordinate with vendor and procurement teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions for the quantum computing architecture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in high-performance photonics.
• Deep expertise in semiconductor lasers and optical components.
• Experience with laser stabilization, RF/microwave engineering for pulsed systems.
• Proven vendor management and supply chain scaling.

Responsibilities

• Architect the laser subsystem and system roadmap.
• Oversee experimental validation and the research plan.
• Define stability requirements and integration with quantum computer architecture.
• Develop DfM/DfT/DfR strategy for industrial-grade production.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams for integration and hand-off packages.
• Negotiate technical specs and long-term supply chain with partners.
