Job summary

Xanadu in Toronto is building quantum hardware and software to enable practical quantum computing. The successful candidate will join the photonic integration team to design passive and active optical components for Xanadu’s fault-tolerant architecture, using DOEs and DFMs to push performance with 200mm/300mm foundry partners.

You will work with cloud simulation pipelines to evaluate design trade-offs, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to a growing, inclusive

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD in Engineering or related field with 2+ years in industry.
• Expert-level knowledge in passive integrated optical components with wafer variation.
• Deep understanding of loss sources in photonic devices and their relation to fabrication processes.
• Experience with design-for-manufacturing and simulation tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Develop passive and active optical components for Xanadu’s fault-tolerant architecture.
• Use cloud simulation pipelines to determine novel design strategies.
• Execute DOEs and apply DFM concepts with 200mm/300mm foundry partners.
• Aim for sub-milli dB loss in components.
