We are seeking a Senior Claims Leader to oversee a team of examiners and large loss file handlers.

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of property file handlers, managing large loss claims and ensuring business outcomes related to customer satisfaction, team development, and financial performance.
• Create an environment that enables team members to excel and support their career growth, aligning with current and future business needs.
• Identify and improve system conditions, eliminate waste, and enhance service quality for customers, staff, and financial results.
• Develop, implement, and monitor claims standards, risk and compliance protocols, and training curricula.
• Manage operational risks associated with team output.
• Model Aviva Values and foster a leadership culture focused on People, Business, and Innovation.
• Communicate clearly and confidently, inspiring collaboration and a shared vision for outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

• Oversee accurate indemnity spending on complex and high-value property claims, especially commercial claims.
• Ensure optimal customer outcomes, financial results, and risk management for large loss files.
• Identify emerging risks, implement controls, and monitor for fraud or irregularities.
• Manage team performance, support career development, and succession planning.
• Coordinate with other units such as recovery, underwriting, and complaints.
• Use data insights and team expertise to improve performance, customer experience, and financial outcomes.
• Inspire and lead a team culture of ownership, agility, transparency, inclusion, curiosity, and respect.
• Lead change initiatives within the team.

What You'll Bring

• Post-secondary education with CIP/FCIP designation.
• Deep knowledge of large loss property claims, with the ability to troubleshoot and develop team capabilities.
• Leadership experience in insurance is preferred.
• Strong performance management and capability development skills.
• Experience or education in continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Technical savvy with experience as a large loss adjuster or examiner.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret data for performance improvement.
• Curiosity and creativity.
• Critical thinking skills.
