Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in similar roles required.
  • Member of the Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec (AAPQ).
  • Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written.

Your future role on our team

BBA is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our team at the Québec City office. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing projects or project components effectively, ensuring quality and meeting client expectations. Your duties include understanding client objectives, preparing proposals, overseeing activities such as site data analysis, landscape design, construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical support during tenders, construction oversight, and final project approval.

  • Analyze project needs, define objectives, develop timelines, set budgets, and identify potential solutions.
  • Organize human and material resources: define tasks, allocate workloads, and identify needed materials.
  • Lead effectively: ensure task completion, motivate the team, maintain clear communication, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Supervise team members in an advisory role, set and monitor objectives and deadlines, take corrective actions, and provide feedback after project completion.
  • Manage and coordinate projects (schedule, budget, quality, OHS, compliance with regulations and client requirements).
  • Manage human resources: advise, train, evaluate performance, and manage discipline.
  • Train team members in landscape studies, human environments, visual assessments, and integration of future facilities.
  • Support department members in acquiring expertise in relevant areas.
  • Set objectives for team members.
  • Manage the team's material resources.
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with corporate policies (HR, OHS, finance).
  • Review design, construction plans, specifications, and other documents before client submission.
  • Review reports, methodology, analysis relevance, and results.
  • Follow up with clients during project execution.
  • Sign and seal project documents and send them to clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships.

Summary of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture
  • Over 10 years of experience in similar roles
  • Member of the Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec (AAPQ)
  • Expertise in urban, recreational, and natural design, as well as landscape and environmental impact assessments
  • Excellent communication skills (public presentations, municipal hearings, BAPE, AEIC)
  • Autonomy, versatility, creativity, and initiative
  • Strong interest in environmental and social issues
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
