Job summary

Global Relay is seeking a Kubernetes Systems Administrator – L3 to help design, implement, and maintain our on-prem Kubernetes infrastructure. You will partner with IT Operations to ensure high availability and rapid incident resolution across a global 24x7 service.

The role requires 5+ years as a Systems Administrator, strong Kubernetes experience, and scripting skills in Python/Ruby/Bash. Vancouver-based, with competitive BC compensation and a bundled benefits program.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in software environments.
• Experienced managing Kubernetes infrastructure in self-hosted production environments.
• Proficient at installing, configuring, and administering Kubernetes distributions.
• Experience with Docker containers and related tooling.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes networking/firewall concepts.
• Experience with ITIL or formal IT operational processes is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of Kubernetes infrastructure (major or incremental).
• Assist in provisioning Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct systems issues.
• Monitor dashboards, logs, and alerts; escalate and resolve quickly.
• Provide ongoing operational support and collaborate with teammates.
• Manage incident, problem, and service request queues.
• Develop and maintain system run books and documentation.
• Evaluate opportunities for automation and implement them.
