Job summary

Scadea Solutions Inc. in Canada is seeking a Senior Java Developer to build secure, scalable backend applications for a banking client. This hands-on role requires expertise in Java, Spring Boot and microservices within enterprise-scale systems.

You will design and implement microservices, REST APIs, and robust backend services, collaborating with cross-functional teams across SDLC. Banking domain experience is preferred and hybrid work setup may apply.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong Java 8/11/17+ and Spring Boot experience.
• Hands-on Microservices and REST API development.
• Strong understanding of OOP, Design Patterns, Collections and exception handling.
• Good SQL/database knowledge and experience with unit testing.
• Strong coding, debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Banking / Financial Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs.
• Implement business logic using clean code, OOP principles and appropriate design patterns.
• Work with SQL databases, messaging systems and distributed application components.
• Develop unit and integration tests and participate in peer code reviews.
• Troubleshoot application, performance and production issues and provide root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, frontend developers, QA and business teams throughout the SDLC.
