Motion Recruitment in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Senior Java DevOps Developer for a contract role with strong possibility of extension and conversion to permanent. The position offers remote work with potential to move to a hybrid model (3 days onsite) upon conversion.

The role requires 5+ years of Java development, experience building cloud-ready applications, Docker containers, REST services, and modern front-end skills (Angular/React, TypeScript, HTML5).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• Experience building cloud-ready applications and deployment pipelines.
• Proficient in Java, Spring Framework and Docker containers.
• Experience with REST, Kafka and SQL/PLSQL.
• Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, RestAssured).
• Familiarity with SDLC in Agile & Waterfall.
• Experience with monitoring tools OpenTelemetry, Splunk, ELK.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Frontend experience with JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React) and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop web-based applications and cloud services in the Angular/Java/Spring/OpenShift stack.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment.
• Promote and follow solid agile software development practices.
• Build for highly reliable, scalable, and maintainable applications.
• Provide leadership in researching and implementing platform improvements.
• Develop front-end interfaces with Angular and React frameworks.
