Sr Java Developer with AWS

This is with a global IT services firm for a leading investment/wealth management services firm. Client Location is downtown Toronto Ontario, close to TTC and GO service. Hybrid - In Office 4 days per week. Contract - 6 months, possible renewal.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage timelines/deliverables within the team towards the successful delivery of projects.
2. Design software solutions by interacting with portfolio managers, traders, operations staff and peers to understand requirements.
3. Develop solutions that are in line with client's technology biases, deliver efficiency and scalability, and enable new trading activities.
4. Provide knowledge transfer to team members and support staff through application demos, walkthroughs, and documentation.

Mandatory Skills:

1. 5+ years' experience in Java in an enterprise environment, covering the whole development life cycle
2. Very strong in Java development. Good analysis/coding and designing skills
3. Need strong knowledge in core Java
4. Should have experience on CDCI pipeline on AWS stack (Good knowledge on EKS required)
5. Must have good communication skills, strong client-facing skills and able to manage client's expectations
6. Experience with production-level programming

Nice-to-Have Skills:

1. Capital Markets domain knowledge - ideally understanding on securities and derivatives trading
2. Strong technical skills with AWS technologies such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3
3. Technical skills with Terraform
