Job summary

Bilinguallink in Canada is seeking a senior Java developer to own strategic reference data platforms and lead key projects through all SDLC phases. You will be responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and deployment, working with a global, diverse team of peers.

You will collaborate with Business Analysts, Production Support, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions while adhering to engineering excellence standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Java development experience.
• 7+ total IT experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Proficiency with SQL/PL-SQL on Oracle DB.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, REST, Kafka, Redis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned development projects within agreed schedule, quality and scope expectations.
• Participate in all stages of SDLC within an agile Scrum environment.
• Form partnership with technology vendors and gain deep understanding of products.
• Enhance/Re-architect existing components to satisfy new requirements in terms of performance and scalability.
• Provide level 3 (escalation) support for the application.

Candidate will be responsible for building out the firm’s strategic reference data platforms to serve businesses within client company. The successful applicant will take ownership of key projects and components and will be responsible for all phases of SDLC including analysis and design, development, testing and deployment. As a developer, the candidate will be responsible for developing & deploying technical solution following engineering excellence standards. A potential candidate will need to understand system and enterprise architecture concepts and will be expected to understand how all components fir together and impact one another. They will work with a global and diverse team of peers as well as liaise closely with Business Analyst, Production Support, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver assigned development projects withing agreed schedule, quality and scope expectations
• Participate in all stages of SDLC within an agile Scrum environment
• Form partnership with technology vendors and gain deep understanding of products
• Enhance/Re-architect existing components to satisfy new requirements in terms of performance and scalability

Mandatory Skills Description:

• At least 6+ years of experience with Java, and 7+ total IT experience.
• Experience/understanding with the following technologies:
• Java (Core, JDBC, MT, Collections, I/O), Spring Boot
• SQL.PL-SQL on Oracle DB
• Container platform based on Kubernetes
• REST web services, Kafka, Redis
• Unix Commands and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with standard data structures and algorithms.
• Experience using the following tools – JIRA, Harness/uDeploy, SonarQube, TeamCity, Artifactory, Git (GHE & Bitbucket)
• Logical thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills; innovate and solutions oriented
• Effective time management skills to manage multiple priorities with flexibility on time zones and timelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
