We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both frontend and backend components of our applications using Java and associated technologies. Candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performing software solutions that meet our business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java programming, experience with modern frontend frameworks, and a passion for full-stack development.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $120k – CAD $125k / year & benefits (see below)

The Role

Responsibilities :

• Analyze existing system logic, evaluate potential improvements, and implement enhancements or fixes to ensure optimal performance and maintainability.
• Define the scope and objectives of system changes through research, fact-finding, and a strong understanding of business systems and industry standards; document technical and functional requirements.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams, particularly in the Rates and broader Markets domains.
• Understand and analyze current business processes to design and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including application design, API specifications, user manuals, and team reference materials.
• Work closely with development leads to address enhancements and defects, providing troubleshooting expertise and resolving application issues efficiently.
• Oversee application deployment, configuration, and release processes, contributing to CI / CD pipelines and ensuring smooth delivery through automated deployment pipelines.
• Provide post-release support to business users, development teams, and support groups, ensuring seamless operation and issue resolution.

Requirements :

Strong design and development experience with Java / EE, expertise in building multi-threaded, scalable, and high-throughput Java applications

Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

Proficiency in Redis for in-memory data storage and caching

Solid experience with Kafka for messaging and data streaming

Scripting – Shell Scripting, Python

Knowledge on the monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk

Experience with design and implementation of cloud-ready applications and deployment via Kubernetes / Openshift

Good to have experience with Gemfire, Ignite.

Preferred, but not required :

Experience with financial services.
