Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Senior Java developer to join its Digital Technology group, supporting online banking and mobile platforms. You will design and implement APIs, develop enterprise-grade services, and contribute to cloud and AI initiatives in a hybrid work setting with 1–3 days on-site.

The role demands strong Java/J2EE expertise and experience with Spring Boot, microservices, and API development. You will collaborate with chapter leads and product owners to deliver complex, scalable solutions

Qualifications

At least 5 years of Java development in enterprise environments.
Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, and web services (SOAP, JSON, REST).
Proven hands-on experience with microservices and API development; familiarity with Cloud environments (Azure) and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Design and develop APIs following established design patterns and best practices; deliver quality test cases and documentation.
Drive continuous improvement and promote modern development practices and tooling.
Provide next-level operational support; troubleshoot performance and reliability issues; ensure efficient operational processes.
Demonstrate a commitment to learning and staying current with technology trends.
