Motion Recruitment Partners (MRP) in Mississauga is seeking a senior backend engineer to build and enhance large-scale, high-performance applications within a financial services environment using Java, Spring, and Kafka.

You'll work in a hybrid setup (2 days onsite per week) on a 6+ month contract with strong potential for extension or conversion to full-time, contributing to scalable architectures and reliable software in a highly collaborative Agile team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring / Spring Boot.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing and developing distributed backend systems.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable application development.
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting production applications.
