Job summary

Simon Fraser University is seeking a Project Manager to lead the Academic Management Systems and IFMS program, providing senior-level project management to enhance visibility, coordinate planning, and ensure governance and reporting requirements are met.

The role emphasizes integrated planning, dependency management, delivery monitoring, risk tracking, budget administration, rollout coordination, and cross-team escalation, with a focus on proactive issue resolution and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computing Science, Business Administration or related discipline.
• PMP or equivalent project management credentials.
• Eight years of related experience in planning and completing large information technology projects.
• Experience in planning and completing large information technology projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management documentation (charter, communication plans, RACI chart, risk mitigation, change management, closure report).
• Ability to analyze business or technical problems and propose solutions.
• Ability to build relationships and maintain rapport with stakeholders.
• Ability to meet deadlines and provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide Academic Management Systems and IFMS program senior-level project management function.
• Enhance IFMS visibility across the University; address issues and dependencies proactively.
• Support governance and reporting requirements.
• Focus on integrated planning and dependency management; delivery monitoring and risk tracking.
• Manage budget administration, rollout coordination, and cross‑team communication and escalation.
