Job summary

Medavie seeks an experienced IT procurement professional to manage procurement activities for hardware, software and services across the organization.

You will build strong supplier relationships, support contract negotiations, and drive cost optimization while collaborating with IT, Legal, Finance and business teams. A strong emphasis is placed on compliant, streamlined processes and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in a related field.
  • 4+ years of IT procurement and supplier management experience.
  • Certifications in procurement or supply chain (PMAC/SCMP/ISM/CTPE) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate IT hardware, software and services procurement and renewals while ensuring compliance.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships and support negotiations.
  • Identify cost-optimization opportunities through standardization and consolidation.
  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, Finance and business teams across the procurement lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate procurement processes.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage IT Procurement Activities: Coordinate the procurement and renewal of IT hardware, software, and services while ensuring compliance and supporting business objectives.

  • Support Supplier Management: Build and maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance, contribute to contract negotiations, and help drive improvements in value, quality, innovation, and risk management.

  • Identify Cost Optimization Opportunities: Analyze spending and support initiatives that improve commercial outcomes through contract optimization, standardization, consolidation, and demand management.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with IT, Legal, Finance, and business teams to provide procurement guidance and support throughout the procurement lifecycle.

  • Enhance Processes and Tools: Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate procurement processes while maintaining documentation, templates, training materials, and playbooks.

  • Leverage Market Insights & AI: Stay informed on industry trends, supplier markets, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled tools to support informed decision‑making, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure Compliance: Help ensure procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

What You Bring
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in IT procurement and supplier management, with a proven track record of managing complex IT procurements

  • Certification: Certification in procurement or supply chain management (PMAC/SCMP/ISM/CTPE) are nice to have.

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset (process, procurement methodologies, operating model) and ability to lead change initiatives

  • Experience developing procurement policies, playbooks, or training material

  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills

Language Skills

English, written and spoken required. French, written and spoken would be considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement
  • In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status

Pay Range

$$88,157 - $110,197

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance‑based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
