The Senior IT Business Analyst will gather and manage requirements on the Telesat Business systems. The role involves collaboration with business leaders, project managers, technical leads, vendor architects, and subject matter experts to develop and manage the function and non-functional requirements for various software systems across the organization.

The Senior IT Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting business and system requirements from stakeholders, developing system specifications, and working with implementation teams to ensure the delivered system conforms to these specifications and requirements.

Main Responsibilities

1. Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, including managers, users, and IT teams.
2. Identify and document business processes, workflows, and system requirements.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement information systems solutions.
4. Lead feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate potential solutions and recommend the most effective course of action.
5. Define and document system specifications, including user interface requirements, data models, and functional specifications.
6. Assist or lead in the development and execution of test plans, ensuring quality and accuracy of solutions.
7. Provide support and training to end-users for successful adoption and utilization of systems.
8. Monitor system performance and conduct reviews to identify improvements and optimizations.
9. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to recommend innovative solutions.
10. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.

Education & Experience Required

• 9+ years' experience in a similar role
• Deep experience supporting, leading, designing, developing, testing, and implementing within Telecom BSS area
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, MS Office tools
• Experience with enterprise BSS and ERP software is an asset
• Experience working in cross-functional technical teams
• Strong communication skills for dealing with clients, stakeholders, and management
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with small, high-performing teams
• Collaborative, flexible, and interpersonal skills
• Experience leading meetings and facilitating consensus
• Background as a business analyst or agile product owner for large enterprise applications
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset

Decision Making & Supervision

• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Make decisions based on analysis within established procedures

Working Conditions

• Generally comfortable working environment
• Moderate visual concentration required
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
• Occasional overtime may be required

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
