Job summary

Neuberger Berman is seeking an Investment Management Attorney in Toronto to advise on a broad range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters for its asset management business. The role supports Neuberger Berman Canada ULC with governance and regulatory matters in Canada and the U.S., located in the Toronto office.

The candidate will work with senior management and investment professionals, supervise outside counsel, and coordinate with global Legal and Compliance teams on private funds, funds

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of legal experience, including 5+ years at a large law firm.
• Extensive knowledge of Canadian securities regulations (NI 31-103, 45-106, 81-102/81-106).
• Experience with U.S. investment adviser and CFTC/NFA issues is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structuring, forming, advising and supporting private funds (open-ended, closed-end, funds-of-one).
• Advising on registered funds under NI 81-106 and 81-102.
• Negotiating investment advisory agreements and client arrangements.
