Job summary

DIALOG is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to deliver complex, large-scale projects in aviation and transit. You will guide projects from planning through completion, build client relationships, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a studio that values design excellence, sustainability, and people.

You will lead and mentor project teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with codes and standards while translating concepts into experiential, functional design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field with strong design process knowledge.
  • 10+ years of interior design experience in consulting, preferably in aviation or transit.
  • NCIDQ certification is an asset; strong communication and leadership skills required.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, Photoshop, InDesign; SketchUp/Rhino a plus.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing client engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate design, project, and firm information with internal and external parties.
  • Prepare schematic/conceptual design drawings and space plans to convey design intent.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the project team through delivery.
  • Oversee project management aspects: budgets, schedules, and standards.
  • Coordinate documents, minutes, schedules, and specifications.
  • Apply building codes and construction regulations; coordinate consultants.
  • Spec furniture, finishes, equipment, FF&E, and related documentation.
  • Lead site visits, field reviews, and installation inspections.

We're currently looking for a Senior Interior Designer to support the delivery of complex, large-scale projects in the aviation and transit sector. This role offers the opportunity to guide projects from planning through completion, build trusted client relationships, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a studio culture that values design excellence, sustainability, and people.

How you’ll make a difference:
  • Communicate and coordinate required design, project and firm information to both internal and external parties as required
  • Prepare and coordinate project schematic/conceptual design drawings
  • Prepare layouts, sketches, and space plans required to convey design intent
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the project team
  • Execute knowledge in project management, budgets, schedules, and architectural standards
  • Coordinate and/or undertake the preparation of required project documents, minutes, schedules, and specifications
  • Apply building code and construction regulations
  • Coordinate electrical, mechanical, structural, and other consultants or vendors
  • Coordinate and/or undertake the selection and specification of furniture, finishes, equipment, and accessories; and preparation of FF+E documentation
  • Lead site visits and field reviews and undertake site deficiency review and installation inspections
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Interior Design consulting with strong knowledge, creativity, and experience of the design process
  • Experience and passion for working on conceptual and innovative projects in the aviation or transit sector is a requirement
  • NCIDQ certified is an asset
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Revit, Navisworks, Photoshop and InDesign (Sketch-up, Rhino experience an asset)
  • Proven experience in participating in client engagement processes from programming and conceptual design through to construction phases
  • Excellent communication skills, team oriented, accountable, and highly motivated
  • Effective coordinator with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements
  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary team, establishing deliverables, schedules, time and fee management
  • A design enthusiast, where you can translate concepts into uniquely experiential and functional design solutions

$90,000 - $110,000 a year
