Qualifications

• Diploma in Interior Design Technology or Architectural Technology from a recognized institution.
• 10+ years of interior design documentation and technical coordination experience.
• Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; InDesign, SketchUp and 3D rendering are assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical development and coordination of interior design projects from schematic design through construction.
• Ensure documentation quality, manage consultant collaboration, and support contract administration.
• Mentor junior technologists and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Lead design and documentation across all project phases and review bid submissions.
• Coordinate with clients, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

We are currently seeking aSenior Interior Design Technologist to join the Toronto Studio to work on highly complex institutional projects.

Job Summary

The Senior Interior DesignTechnologist leads the technical development and coordination of interiordesign projects from schematic design through construction. This senior role isresponsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of documentation, managingconsultant collaboration, and supporting contract administration andoffice-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Documentation

• Leadand oversee the preparation of documentation, specifications, and modelingacross all phases.
• Produceand review complete construction document packages.
• Conductadvanced code and bylaw analyses to support project permitting.
• Managetendering documents and review bid submissions.
• Provideoversight of material and product research related to interior systems.

Project Support and Coordination

• Coordinate with multidisciplinaryconsultant teams and ensure documentation integration.
• Liaise with clients, municipalauthorities, and internal leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attend and lead meetings with clients andconsultants.
• Manage site meeting participation, shopdrawing reviews, and contract administration processes.
• Prepare fee letters and all necessarystart-up documentation in collaboration with leadership.
• Ensure all work aligns with the firm’sProject Delivery standards, including proper use of filing systems,adherence to architectural procedures, and compliance with drawing anddocumentation protocols.

Team and Culture

• Mentor junior technologists and contributeto team training and knowledge sharing.
• Act as a subject matter expert ontechnical processes and best practices.
• Lead discussions around the improvement ofdocumentation systems and workflows.
• Fully participate in a fast-paced,in-office environment that values collaboration.
• Comply with all company health and safetypolicies and protocols.
• Able to work in a collaborative, in-officeenvironment (100% in-office presence required to support direct teamengagement and effective cross-functional coordination).

Qualifications

• Diploma in Interior Design Technology orArchitectural Technology from a recognized institution.
• 10+ years of experience in interior designdocumentation and technical coordination.
• Prior security clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD isrequired; InDesign, SketchUp, and 3D rendering are assets.
• Strong knowledge of detailing, materials,building systems, and technical processes.
• Demonstrated experience with contractadministration (RFIs, shop drawings, change orders).
• Familiarity with a broad range of projecttypes; workplace and institutional preferred.
• Strong proficiency with local BuildingCodes and permitting processes.
• LEED AP, WELL AP, or sustainabilityknowledge considered an asset.
• PMP certification is considered an asset.
• Proven communication skills and ability tomanage responsibilities independently.
• Strong commitment to continuous learningand technical excellence.
