Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Hastings seeks a Senior Interaction Designer to shape user-centred digital services that meet policy needs while delivering excellent user experiences. As a Senior Interaction Designer, you'll play a key role in shaping user-centred services that meet organisational and policy needs while delivering excellent user experiences.

Working within the Create Service Line, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, service managers and stakeholders to design and improve digital services. Using research, data and evidence, you'll help turn complex requirements into simple, effective interactions that meet user needs and align with organisational goals.

You'll champion inclusive and accessible design, facilitate collaboration across teams and contribute to the development of design standards, patterns and best practice. You'll also help embed user-centred design approaches, support colleagues and influence decisions that shape the future of digital services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer who enjoys tackling complex challenges, leading by example and creating digital experiences that deliver meaningful outcomes for users and the Department for Transport.

Your responsibilities will include, butaren’tlimited to:

  • Be an experienced designer and developer of design concepts, user journeys and user experiences across digital services based on user needs and project requirements.
  • Be able to apply technical knowledge and experience to create or design workable prototypes.
  • Joining the Digital Accessibility working group to ensure the department is compliant with Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulation 2018, including WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Applying agile project delivery techniques and collaborating with a variety of project team members and stakeholders at all levels, working as part of a multi-disciplinary environment.
