Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, L.L.C. is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to advance digital upgrades for nuclear power projects in Canada and the US. You will lead design efforts, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure conformance to client specifications and industry codes.

The role emphasizes high-level I&C system development, documentation, and engagement with vendors and clients alike, with a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence three days weekly.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from ABET- or CEAB-accredited program.
• 10+ years in design engineering of instrumentation and controls for heavy industrial plants.
• Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls design for Candu reactors, including DCS.
• Knowledge of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for system design.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role is desirable.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design instrumentation and controls for nuclear plant projects.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes and client requirements.
• Prepare instrument data sheets and calibration sheets.
• Interface with vendors to review equipment purchase specifications.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope.
