Description

The Master of Occupational Therapy, North (MOT-N) at the University of Northern British Columbia, in conjunction with UBC’s Faculty of Medicine Occupational Therapy Program, is seeking a Senior Instructor to play a crucial role within the Division of Medical Sciences at UNBC, taking full responsibility for recruitment of local and regional clinical faculty to deliver and support curriculum in the MOT-N program with a proposed start date of August 18, 2025. The incumbent will report to the Associate Vice-President, Division of Medical Sciences, who will provide ongoing direction of duties and responsibilities. The successful candidate will interact regularly with MOT-N students, staff and faculty, as well as faculty and staff of partnership institutions at UBC & UBCO. Must have strong connections with the Northern BC Occupational Therapy clinical community, those in both public and private practice. Proven experience in building relationships will be key in navigating the sometimes-challenging work environment between staff and faculty physically located at the distributed site, as well as assisting those who reside in the centralized location.

Duties And Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Build and maintain a cohesive team of Clinical Faculty Teaching Assistants (CTAs) dedicated to supporting the Master’s of Occupational Therapy – North (MOT-N) program at UNBC.
  • Guide and mentor new Clinical Teaching Assistants and Clinical Lab Instructors in the North.
  • Work closely with MOT-North site leads and course coordinators to understand the MOT curriculum and upcoming modules to support delivery where necessary.
  • Facilitate classes held at UNBC locally as well as those streamed via videoconference from Vancouver.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants for this position must possess a master’s degree in occupational therapy from a recognized institution endorsed by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and be appointed as a UBC OSOT Clinical Faculty member per accreditation standards.
