Job summary

The Redesign Group is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design and lead delivery of customer infrastructure solutions within our professional services team. This role develops deployment plans, mentors engineers, and ensures successful project execution.

To be successful, you must have a hands-on customer-first approach, strong communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, including travel up to 45% for client sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of IT infrastructure experience in MSP, VAR, NOC, or enterprise IT environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience with Dell/EMC storage solutions and VMware/Broadcom, HyperV, Nutanix, or Proxmox.
  • Experience with rack mounting, labeling, and cable management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues with advanced tools.

  • Lead architectural design and planning for customer projects.
  • Develop deployment plans and technical documentation for mid-level engineers.
  • Review and approve deployments performed by mid-level engineers.

Job Description

The Senior Infrastructure Engineeris responsible fordesigning and leading the delivery of customer infrastructure solutions within the professional services organization. This role develops implementation plans, mentors delivery engineers, and ensures successful project execution.

Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 45% of the time for post-sales implementation at customer sites.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in an MSP, VAR, ISP, NOC, or enterprise IT environment. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to positively influence customers by proactivelyidentifyingpotential issues and steering them toward effective solutions.
  • Extensive experience with Dell/EMC storage solutions (PowerScale/Isilon,PowerStore,PowerVault,Unity)
  • Experience implementing andmaintainingVMware/Broadcom,HyperV, Nutanix, orProxmoxenvironments and technologies.
  • Experience with physical installation of rack-mounted equipment, including labeling, documentation, and cable management.
  • Proficiencyin installing,maintaining, and supporting critical platforms related to business workloads.
  • Ability to troubleshoot configuration, software, and infrastructure problems using advanced tools (Wireshark, WindowsSysinternals, Fiddler,Netcat).
  • Familiarity with Dell and CiscoToRnetworking technologies.
  • Experience with networking/distributed computing technologies and services (DNS, L2/L3 networking, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPN).
  • Ability to develop and recommend innovative, automated, and scalable solutions to both non-technical and technical audiences.
  • Extensive experience creating andmaintainingtechnical documentation (rack elevations, wiring diagrams, network diagrams, site surveys, audit reports).
  • Experience with hyper-converged systems (VxRail/VMwarevSAN, Nutanix, Azure Stack).
  • Knowledge of various backup/replication and storage technologies (Veeam, VMware vSAN, NetApp, vSphere Replication, RP4VM).
  • Ability to travel to customer locations for onsite support or hardware installations.
  • Willingness towork offhours for planned maintenance, project implementations, or unplanned emergencies.
Desired Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience remotely administering medium or larger-sized data center environments. Scripting experience in commonly used languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Dell/EMC Storage Solutions, particularlyPower Protect Data Manager, Data Domain.
