Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Information Technology Consultant in Vancouver’s Building Technology team to lead the design and delivery of secure, connected, future-ready buildings. You’ll guide IT infrastructure, structured cabling, networks and integrated systems from concept to closeout.

You will manage scope, schedule and budget while growing client relationships, mentoring teams, and advancing technical standards across multidisciplinary projects in British Columbia.

Qualifications

  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) designation is mandatory.
  • Advanced expertise in information technology infrastructure, structured cabling, network, and technology systems design.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, complex security and technology projects through concept design, schematic design, detailed design, tender, construction administration, and closeout.
  • Strong technical judgment in reviewing and approving reports, diagrams, drawings, specifications, design narratives, and construction deliverables.
  • Commercial and project leadership capability across proposals, bids, scope, schedules, budgets, contracts, risk, change management, and financial performance.
  • Ability to advise senior clients, facilitate workshops, present recommendations, resolve complex issues, and build relationships that support repeat business and market growth.
  • Broad knowledge of security, audiovisual, data centre , and integrated building systems; a Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC) designation is an asset.
  • Experience guiding technical teams, mentoring colleagues, strengthening quality practices, and coordinating effectively across disciplines and offices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret security clearance, plus a valid driver's licence, access to a vehicle, and availability for periodic project travel.

As a Senior Information Technology Consultant with our British Columbia BuildingTechnology team, you'll lead the design and delivery of secure, connected, future-ready buildings. Based in our Vancouver office and reporting to the Manager, Technology, you'll provide senior technical and project leadership for large security and technology assignments across the region, guide multidisciplinary coordination, strengthen client relationships, and help grow WSP's expertise in information technology infrastructure, structured cabling, networks, and integrated building systems.

Your Impact

Lead complex security and technology projects, setting the technical direction that creates reliable, connected environments for clients and communities across British Columbia.

Direct information technology infrastructure, structured cabling, network, and technology systems design from concept narratives through construction documents and closeout.

Manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, contracts, and commercial performance while keeping project teams aligned around quality and client outcomes.

Strengthen trusted client relationships through workshops, presentations, strategic advice, proposals, and solutions that respond to evolving operational needs.

Collaborate with WSP leaders and multidisciplinary specialists to integrate security, audiovisual, and other building systems into coordinated, future-ready designs.

Mentor colleagues, advance technical standards, and champion WSP's quality assurance practices, health and safety policies, and Life-Saving Rules.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000

MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
