Job summary

DIRTT in Calgary is seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to mentor a team of Product Designers and shape design strategy from concept to implementation within the DIRTT DNA. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to drive the design vision, develop 3D models and manufacturing-ready drawings, and ensure manufacturability and sustainability across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma or professional equivalent in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Design, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of product design experience with launches.
• A strong portfolio of successful product designs.
• Experience in manufacturing of products is a must.
• Experience in interior construction is a strong asset.
• Proficiency in 3D design tools and software listed above.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Product Designers and guide team success.
• Define design strategy aligned with company direction.
• Identify opportunities for new products and business growth.
• Collaborate with product managers to prioritize design projects.
• Create design concepts and present proposals to stakeholders.
• Develop 3D models, CAD drawings, prototypes and manufacturing info.
• Design for manufacturing and assembly; consider environment and sustainability.
• Work with engineering, production and installation teams to refine designs.
