Job summary

Olympia Trust seeks a Senior Trust Accountant to manage the full-cycle accounting for Indigenous trust portfolios, including First Nations treaty benefit trusts, land trusts, and community funds. You will work with Trustees, Chief and Council, and community members to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive trust, fund, or fiduciary accounting experience.
• Experience with Indigenous trust accounts preferred.
• CPA designation preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain full-cycle trust accounting records for portfolios.
• Prepare periodic and monthly financial statements.
• Process regular trust payments and reconcile holdings with custodians.
• Prepare trust tax filings (including T3) and support audits.
• Maintain compliance with trust agreements and regulations.
• Assist with new trust onboarding and chart of accounts.
• Identify compliance risks and funding shortfalls; escalate as needed.
• Build relationships with Indigenous Trustees and community members.
