What is the opportunity?

The Senior IAM Application Support Analyst provides extensive, in-depth technical expertise in the design, development, and support for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems within an organization. Provides security and technical competence in the area of IAM security through leadership, guidance and oversight in line with the changing Threat Landscape, Regulatory and Compliance requirements to provide protection for the global RBC business, application and infrastructure teams across the Enterprise, driving improvements across the organization. Provides technical expertise on the development and support of enterprise-wide end-to end acquisition, implementation, optimization and support for systems and services needed to protect information security in accordance to RBC standards.

What will you do?

  • Provide expert-level support and resolution for complex IAM issues, and conduct system performance monitoring and tuning to optimize efficiency and reliability of IAM solutions.
  • Assess, research, and analyze business and system needs to recommend technology solutions and designs, and identify opportunities for efficiencies through automation and other techniques.
  • Partner with IAM management team to execute vision, strategy, and roadmap for the team, and participate in architecture and design discussions to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Provide high-level service to business partners, resolve conflicts and issues, and develop strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external vendors through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide technical leadership to projects from idea creation stage, and lead and mentor junior team members to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Ensure strategies, processes, and execution plans are in place for capacity planning, optimization, and maintenance of IAM systems, and identify and act on cost reduction initiatives and service improvements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • Experience with IAM platforms includes MS EntraID and SailPoint
  • Knowledge of relational database and SQL statements
  • Experience with SSO, MFA, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, LDAP, and other identity-related protocols.
  • Strong skills in diagnosing and resolving IAM-related issues, such as login problems, access control issues, and user provisioning errors.
  • Knowledge of role-based and attribute-based access control, provisioning workflows, lifecycle management, and access requests with the understanding of how IAM systems integrate with other enterprise systems, including security, networking, and application layers.
  • Ability to work with IT, security teams, developers, and business stakeholders to design, implement, and support IAM solutions.
  • Ability to write detailed documentation for IAM policies, procedures, workflows, and system configurations, and generate IAM audit reports and logs to comply with regulatory requirements or internal policies.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Axiomatics Dynamic Authorization Suite and ALFA language.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, SQL, or Bash) to manage user accounts and streamline IAM processes.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, PCI-DSS, or ISO/IEC 27001, and how they impact IAM policies and procedures.
  • Experience with continuous integration/delivery best-practices, technologies, and tools.
  • Knowledge of business line(s)' applications and processes.
  • Knowledge with tools such as Dynatrace, Zabbix, SCOM, Moogsoft, QRadar, Splunk, Logstash, SIEM, etc.
  • Undergraduate in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications: CISSP or related certifications
