Key Responsibilities

  1. Managing and/or supporting studies and projects generally concentrated within the water resources and water management sectors as related to the energy, infrastructure, and mining/industrial sectors.
  2. Overseeing engineering analyses and designs in collaboration with other disciplines.
  3. Preparing detailed technical reports, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
  4. Maintaining and developing client relationships.
  5. Identifying key opportunities in the Hydrotechnical Engineering Discipline.
  6. Developing business, writing proposals, and engaging/presenting to clients.
  7. Mentorship and development of junior engineers, designers, and technicians.
  8. Undertaking technical reviews of documents and technical drawings prepared by the team.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources and/or Civil Engineering Hydrology and Hydraulics.
  2. 10+ years experience post-graduation in hydrotechnical engineering with a minimum of 5 years in a North American multidiscipline environment.
  3. Registered, or licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in the State of Ontario.
  4. Led or contributed to Area Drainage Studies, including municipal and industrial infrastructure.
  5. Demonstrated experience in a variety of Civil Engineering Hydrology and Hydraulics applications such as Water Resources, Rail Drainage, Flood Control and Protection, and Stormwater Management Planning.
  6. Proven experience in the types of analyses and design processes required by the Federal and State Guidelines and Regulations.
  7. Leadership skills with a proven aptitude to mentor and develop junior engineers, designers, and technicians.
  8. Team-focused with excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of multidisciplinary projects.
  9. Client responsive with a history of successful business development.
  10. Outstanding verbal and written communications skills in both French and English.
  11. Good working knowledge of specialized Hydrotechnical software and modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS(1D/2D), PCSWMM, InfoWorks), including GIS and Civil3D based applications. Experience with MIKE models would be considered an asset.
  12. Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
