The successful candidate will play a key role in Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC), supporting groundwater management systems and ensuring construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) on major infrastructure projects.

  • Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR), or support the EOR, for hydrogeological systems and groundwater‑related works.

  • Conduct field reviews and site inspections to verify construction activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, permit requirements, and project objectives.

  • Review contractor submissions including RFIs, technical queries, shop drawings, dewatering plans, groundwater monitoring plans, inspection and test plans, and temporary works documentation.

  • Identify technical and constructability issues and work collaboratively with project teams to develop practical solutions while maintaining design intent and regulatory compliance.

  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, environmental specialists, inspectors, and project stakeholders throughout all phases of construction.

  • Review groundwater monitoring data, instrumentation records, field measurements, and as‑built documentation.

  • Support QA/QC processes, compliance verification, deficiency tracking, commissioning activities, and project close‑out documentation.

  • Prepare field review reports, site observations, monitoring summaries, and technical documentation.

  • Participate in construction coordination meetings, technical workshops, site safety initiatives, and project planning activities.

  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline.

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in hydrogeological engineering, site engineering, construction support, groundwater management, or Engineering Services During Construction.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting groundwater monitoring programs, dewatering systems, and construction‑phase engineering activities.

  • Experience working on transportation, marine, tunnelling, heavy civil, industrial, or other major infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of groundwater flow, seepage, dewatering systems, recharge systems, instrumentation, monitoring programs, and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, contractor submissions, RFIs, technical queries, and project documentation.

  • Familiarity with QA/QC programs, non‑conformance reporting, deficiency management, and construction documentation systems.

  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and exercise sound engineering judgement in active construction environments.

  • Experience with digital field reporting systems, groundwater monitoring databases, and document control platforms is considered an asset.

  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.
