Role description

Arcadis is currently seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist. This position will integrate into a well-developed team of environmental engineers and scientists to provide technical support. The successful candidate will mentor junior and intermediate staff with a strong focus on high-quality work, innovation, efficiency, and productive client relationships.

Role accountabilities
  • Provide technical expertise to support ongoing Arcadis pursuits and environmental projects across sectors including mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, brownfields, industrial redevelopment, as well as utility and power sectors.
  • Mentor and provide oversight to junior and intermediate staff to ensure they effectively carry out technical tasks and field programs.
  • Manage tasks such as contaminated site investigations, feasibility studies, remediation design and implementation, hydrogeological studies, and monitoring programs; contribute to permitting and compliance strategies.
  • Prepare reports, work plans, specifications, proposals, and technical budgets; ensure technical deliverables meet quality assurance/quality control standards.
  • Collaborate with senior-level staff across Canada and the US to provide integrated services to current and prospective clients; participate in local, national, and international collaboration opportunities.
  • Engage in business development activities and maintain positive, long-term client relationships with contacts, contractors, engineering consultants, and external agencies.
  • Contribute to ongoing technical knowledge and innovation initiatives within Arcadis; support Arcadis\' quality, health and safety, and performance management systems.
Key Attributes / Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in groundwater and contaminant hydrogeological assessments; feasibility studies; computer model applications; design and implementation of remediation programs and risk mitigation systems (e.g., pump and treat; vapour extraction; chemical oxidation).
  • Knowledge and experience with environmental compliance and related guidelines/legislation at provincial and federal levels.
  • Experience serving clients in industrial, development, and federal sectors.
  • Proven ability to design and implement field programs; analyze data, write reports, ensure quality control/assurance, and present results to clients.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills that enable detailed planning, timely decision-making, and efficient implementation.
  • Experience working within a Behavior Based Safety System, including development and use of Job Safety Analyses and performance of Job Observations.
  • Valid driver\'s license; willing to travel to project sites and meetings as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience preferred.
  • Numerical groundwater modelling experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor\'s and/or Master\'s degree in hydrogeological sciences or related engineering discipline.
  • Registered as a practising member of the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (P.Geo.) or Professional Engineers Ontario (P.Eng.); ability to register in other Canadian provinces and territories is desirable.

The salary range for this position is $95,000-137,000. The base salary represents Arcadis\' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
