As a Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer in our Edmonton, AB office, you will be part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation, and Monitoring (ARRM) team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Actively participating in and promoting Matrix’s safety culture
• Leading or supporting site assessment, remediation, and monitoring projects of varying complexity
• Overseeing projects with less than 25% field work
• Ensuring effective communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality results
• Managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication
• Preparing technical reports, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates
• Contributing to a collaborative team environment
• Engaging in professional development and career growth opportunities

What Are We Looking For :

• Technical diploma or degree in environmental science or related field
• At least 8 years of consulting experience in site assessment, reclamation, remediation, and monitoring in Alberta or British Columbia
• Eligibility for registration or good standing with a professional organization (AIA, ASET, APEGA)
• Experience in technical report writing, work plans, and cost estimates
• Experience with borehole logging, sampling, and field screening
• Strong data evaluation skills and decision-making ability
• Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
• Willingness to mentor junior professionals
• Valid, clean Class 5 driver’s license
• Familiarity with field equipment and digital data collection tools
• Experience operating pickup trucks
• Preference for those with experience managing salt or hydrocarbon impacted sites
