Job summary

Total Plumbing & Heating Ltd in Canada is seeking a Senior HVAC Estimator to lead commercial estimates from tender review to handoff, ensuring accurate takeoffs and competitive submissions.

You will review drawings and specs, develop labour, material and equipment estimates, evaluate supplier pricing, manage deadlines, and collaborate with the Commercial team to strengthen estimating standards as we grow.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction, HVAC systems and installation requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience developing labour, material and equipment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, tender documents and addenda.
• Complete detailed HVAC quantity takeoffs.
• Prepare labour, material, equipment and subcontractor estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify scope requirements, exclusions and potential risks.
• Prepare accurate and competitive tender submissions.
• Manage multiple estimates and submission deadlines.
• Participate in bid reviews with the Commercial team.
• Support project turnover to Project Management and Field Operations.
• Maintain organized estimating files, pricing and historical project data.
• Compare estimated costs against actual project performance.
• Help strengthen estimating standards and processes.

We are looking for a Senior HVAC Estimator who reflects these values and brings strong commercial HVAC knowledge, sound judgment and proven estimating experience to our growing Commercial team.

The Role

You will manage commercial HVAC estimates from initial tender review through submission and project handoff.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, tender documents and addenda
• Completing detailed HVAC quantity takeoffs
• Preparing labour, material, equipment and subcontractor estimates
• Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Identifying scope requirements, exclusions and potential risks
• Preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions
• Managing multiple estimates and submission deadlines
• Participating in bid reviews with the Commercial team
• Supporting project turnover to Project Management and Field Operations

• Comparing estimated costs against actual project performance
• Helping strengthen estimating standards and processes
