Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to support HR operations across a growing manufacturing company with employees across 4 U.S. locations. Based in New Jersey, this role is responsible for payroll, benefits coordination, employee relations, and compliance, with a focus on building strong partnerships across the business. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, manufacturing experience, and working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now. Some travel to other U.S. sites is required (approx. 5%) to support employee relations, onboarding, and HR initiatives.
What you will be doing:
Payroll & HRIS (ADP)
Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees across multiple locations
Review timecards, resolve discrepancies, and ensure wage and hour law compliance
Maintain and audit payroll records in ADP Workforce Now
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and coordinate with Finance for reconciliations
Benefits Administration
Manage benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and open enrollment across all sites
Liaise with carriers to resolve claims or coverage issues
Reconcile benefits billing and ensure accurate payroll deductions
Support employee education on health, dental, life, 401K, and disability benefits
Employee Relations & Site Support
Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers across all locations
Address employee concerns, support conflict resolution, and guide performance management
Conduct workplace investigations and ensure proper documentation
Partner with local leaders to reinforce a consistent and compliant approach to HR practices
Compliance & General HR Administration
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal and state labor law
Support onboarding/offboarding processes and facilitate new hire orientation
Assist with EEO reporting, safety documentation, and internal HR audits
Provide support for hourly recruiting efforts as needed
What you must have:
5+ years of HR experience, including 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
Experience supporting multi-site operations and willingness to travel
Strong proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS/payroll system
Experience processing payroll
In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
