Senior Human Resources Advisor

Are you an experienced human resources professional looking to join a small and dynamic team that supports all levels of the organization in the delivery of community recreation and culture?

ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, you will be responsible for the delivery of HR services to support NVRC’s strategic direction and delivery of recreation and culture programs. You will provide your expertise in the areas of employee and labour relations, performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, training, job evaluation, compensation and benefits, health, wellness, safety, and disability management. You will also be involved in special initiatives, drafting policies, and researching, coordinating and implementing the impacts of new legislation and regulations.

You are an experienced professional with applied knowledge of all core human resources functions. You will provide guidance and direction regarding the interpretation, administration and implementation of human resource policies, procedures, collective agreements, employment standards and human rights legislation in a unionized environment. You have strong coaching, communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. You have a demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize competing demands and work collaboratively within the HR team and with all levels of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
You have a degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, plus 5 to 7 years of related experience as a Human Resources generalist, preferably in a unionized, public sector setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset as is experience with an enterprise system or HRIS (NVRC uses JD Edwards), an Applicant Tracking System (NVRC uses PeopleAdmin), and a Records Management System (NVRC uses SharePoint).

This is an exempt full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate may be required to work evenings and weekends and at any facility within NVRC.

COMPENSATION:$116,852.63 to $129,492.75 annually
