Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support to managers and employees in the areas of performance counseling, employee retention, policy interpretation and implementation, human rights and employment legislation, conflict resolution and legal/contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate recruitment and selection process for the organization, including screening candidates, conducting interviews, contacting references and providing orientation and training for new employees.
  • Prepare separation packages, complete layoffs/terminations.
  • Administer and explain benefits to employees, serve as liaison between employees and insurance carriers.
  • Recommend, develop and schedule training and development courses.
  • Develop and maintain company policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee schedules for weekly and continental employees.
  • Manage HR related reporting as required (Labour Cost, Health & Safety, WSIB).
  • Develop, support and participate in Health & Safety initiatives within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business or Human Resources Management.
  • 5+ years of prior experience in an HR/Operations role.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting, preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
