Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to drive the HSE program on a major energy infrastructure project in the Bécancour region. You will lead safety initiatives, advise leadership, and promote a prevention culture across site teams.

With a DEC or university degree and at least 10 years in HSE on large-scale projects, you will coordinate contractors, monitor regulatory compliance, and leverage digital tools to improve risk management.

Qualifications

• DEC or university degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of HSE experience on large-scale construction or industrial projects.
• Experience developing prevention programs and managing critical risks.
• Experience managing contractors and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual in French and English; collaboration with global leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership and promote a prevention culture across project teams.
• Advise leadership on strategic decisions impacting health, safety, and environmental performance.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with client, regulators, contractors and stakeholders.
• Ensure HSE requirements are integrated into planning, design and execution phases.
• Define objectives, priorities and action plans; implement across teams.
• Stop work when unacceptable risk is identified and mobilize corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Lead HSE communications with clients, contractors, and authorities.
• Manage HSE budget and resources for successful project execution.
• Represent the organization during external audits and inspections.
