Job summary

Sodexo Live! is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead day-to-day HR for Vancouver Convention Centre operations.

You will partner with operational leaders, manage hourly recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management while ensuring compliance with BC employment laws. This contract role focuses on creating a positive, inclusive workplace, handling sensitive employee matters with professionalism, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support a high-volume events

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration or related field.
• 6+ years progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in leadership.
• Experience in hospitality or high-volume service environments is an asset.
• Working knowledge of BC employment standards, human rights and workplace safety.
• Experience supporting employee relations, investigations and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and operational roles.
• Coordinate onboarding, documentation and required training.
• Provide HR support on policies, leaves, compensation and concerns.
• Lead workplace investigations in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Partner with management and safety reps to maintain a safe workplace.
• Support leaders with performance management and workforce planning.
• Build strong relationships across culinary, hospitality, facilities and operations.
