Job summary

Westbank First Nation Inc. is seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor to guide leaders and staff under the direction of the HR Manager and Director. The role covers recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, disability management and talent development within a portfolio model.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in HR, with 5+ years in HR and CPHR preferred. A Criminal Record Check is required and confidentiality is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
• 5+ years of senior HR experience preferred.
• CPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advises Management on HR functional areas including; recruitment, onboarding, performance and change management, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning and succession planning.
• Coaches and motivates employees and leaders in relationship development, providing constructive feedback in addressing employee relation issues.
• Assists Legal Counsel with internal investigations.
• Acts as a point of contact for employee relations matters and works with management to achieve solutions aligned with Westbank First Nation values.
• Supports and implements HR policies, projects and programs to enhance performance and growth.
• Participates in compensation benchmarking and salary planning with HR Management.
