A leading company in community recreation services is seeking a Senior HR Advisor to support HR functions and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have significant HR experience, a relevant degree, and strong skills in labour and employee relations. This full-time role requires a mix of strategic oversight and hands-on service delivery.

Organizational Profile
NVRC provides recreation, sport, arts, and cultural programming, activities, and events on behalf of the City and District. It operates nine community centres, the North Vancouver Tennis Centre, and Centennial Theatre, the North Shore’s largest theatre. NVRC’s arts and cultural services include grants programs, artist residencies, art displays, public art, event support, and the operation of Centennial Theatre.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Senior HR Advisor is a key member of NVRC’s HR team, supporting NVRC’s strategic goals. The role involves providing expert support across HR services, offering guidance on complex workplace matters, labour relations, and employee relations, with attention to legal and public accountability. The Senior HR Advisor contributes to HR policy development, leads special initiatives, and assists with legislative changes. The role requires balancing strategic thinking with hands-on service delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate has over five (5) years of progressive HR experience, with expertise in core HR functions across a diverse workforce, including full-time and seasonal employees. Experience in labour relations, collective agreement interpretation, investigations, classification, and policy development is preferred. The candidate should be comfortable providing strategic HR advice and escalating issues as needed. A degree in Human Resources or a related field is required; a CPHR designation is an asset. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
This is a full-time exempt position, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate may need to work evenings and weekends at any NVRC facility. The salary ranges from $116,852.63 to $129,492.75, complemented by a comprehensive total compensation package.
