Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Senior Histology Technician to join our preclinical research team in Montreal, Quebec, focusing on neuroscience and drug discovery. You will own end-to-end histology workflows in a collaborative lab environment.

The role requires a DEC in Biomedical Laboratory Technology and 3+ years of hands-on histology, with strong FFPE embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining experience. IHC/IF experience is a plus, and bilingual French/English is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and cryotomy
• Conduct H&E, special stains, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF)
• Ensure high-quality tissue preparation, staining, and quality control
• Operate and maintain histology equipment, including microtomes, stainers, and slide scanners
• Support digital pathology and image analysis workflows
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to SOPs

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and cryotomy

• Ensure high-quality tissue preparation, staining, and quality control
• Operate and maintain histology equipment, including microtomes, stainers, and slide scanners

Requirements:

• DEC in Biomedical Laboratory Technology or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on histology experience
• Strong expertise in paraffin embedding (FFPE), microtomy, and H&E staining
• Experience with IHC and/or IF is preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-throughput laboratory environment
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
