THE OPPORTUNITY

The client is seeking a Senior Highway Design Engineer. This role offers the chance to join a dynamic team of professionals with a strong track record of success. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage highway design projects for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and municipalities across Ontario.
  • Supervise designers and technical support staff involved in highway and road design.
  • Assist in training, mentoring, assessing, and recruiting staff.
  • Prepare proposals, expressions of interest, and marketing materials.
  • Promote the firm to current and potential clients.
  • Maintain professional growth through seminars, workshops, and affiliations to stay updated on industry trends.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum of ten years' experience in preliminary and detailed multi-disciplinary design projects.
  • Experience in functional planning and design studies for preliminary design.
  • Experience in detailed design for multi-lane arterial and expressway projects, including minor and major reconstructions and widenings.
  • Proven track record as a project or design manager for road and highway projects, including environmental assessments, especially for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
  • Experience in managing and producing MTO contract packages.
  • Strong skills in business development, service selling, and client presentations.
  • Good reputation with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and Ontario municipalities.
  • An engineering degree and professional designation are required.
