Tag is seeking a Senior Strategist for the Brand team to lead the strategic direction of educational and promotional materials for prescription pharmaceuticals in Canada. You will translate scientific insights into actionable guidance and collaborate with Client Service, Account Management, and Creative teams to ensure strategic alignment.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience in Health Science or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or health agency in Canada.
  • Knowledge of Canadian regulatory environment; PAAB/ASC experience.
  • Strong communication skills in English; bilingualism is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic distillation of complex clinical information into selling messages and strategies across therapeutic areas.
  • Research, write, reference, and update promotional and educational materials.
  • Manage submission and documentation within MLR systems and external PAAB/ASC submission systems.
  • Ensure scientific, medical, and strategic accuracy across layouts and deliverables.
  • Act as regulatory and market expert for Canada and global markets, collaborating with PAAB and ASC.

Job description

As a Senior Strategist on our Brand team, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the strategic direction of educational and promotional initiatives for prescription pharmaceutical products. Leveraging your deep scientific expertise—combined with advanced strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and industry insight—you will guide the development of compelling, evidence-based content across diverse therapeutic areas. You will serve as a key strategic voice, informing brand planning, communication strategies, and broader business development opportunities. You will also play an important role in researching and developing content for a wide range of educational and promotional materials related to prescription pharmaceutical products.

In this senior role, you will lead cross-functional collaboration with Client Service, Account Management, and Creative teams to ensure strategic alignment and scientific integrity across all deliverables. You will also contribute to global initiatives, ensuring all materials meet scientific, medical, and regulatory standards across markets.

As a trusted partner to both internal teams and external stakeholders, you will take an active client-facing role—presenting strategic recommendations, translating scientific insights into actionable guidance, and engaging directly with healthcare providers where appropriate. You will mentor junior team members, elevate strategic thinking across the organization, and help ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful work that drives measurable results for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the strategic distillation of complex scientific and clinical information into clear, compelling selling messages and communication strategies that directly support brand goals, market positioning, and broader business objectives across assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Research, write, self-edit, reference, and update promotional and educational materials, including but not limited to marketing campaigns, campaign execution and measurement, websites, detail aids, emails, leave behinds, presentations, and other digital and print collateral materials.
  • Manage and guide the submission, referencing, and documentation process within client Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) systems (e.g., Veeva, PromoMats, GCMA) and external submission systems (PAAB efile system, and ASC submission system), ensuring content is compliant, fully referenced, and optimized for efficient approval.
  • Review and verify content and creative executions to ensure scientific, medical, and strategic accuracy across all layouts and deliverables, providing expert recommendations to elevate clarity and impact.
  • Serve as a regulatory and market expert, deepening knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements in Canada and global markets; collaborate with internal teams and external regulatory partners (e.g., PAAB and ASC) to ensure all work meets scientific, legal, and brand standards.
  • Provide leadership within cross-functional brand teams, shaping strategic direction, identifying innovative opportunities, and developing solutions that address brand, market, and regulatory challenges—while mentoring junior team members in scientific and strategic best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in Health Science, Biology, or a related field—equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience is also welcomed.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or health agency industries in Canada.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment; PAAB/ASC experience is required
  • A passion for science and medicine, with an interest in marketing, strategy, and healthcare communications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex information clearly and accurately.
  • A solutions-focused, detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable work style.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and contribute to multiple projects in a collaborative environment.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset, and additional languages are welcomed.
