Job summary

Vital Bio is seeking a seasoned Hardware Engineer to own subsystems for the VitalOne platform, spanning mechanics, electronics, and system integration.

Lead a small hardware team, translate requirements into clear specifications, and guide design, bring‑up, verification, and manufacturing readiness.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with assay, software, and manufacturing teams, and help shape the roadmap in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Strong systems thinking across mechanics, electronics, firmware interfaces
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for non‑ specialists
• Experience leading hardware teams and driving design reviews
• Proven track record taking hardware from concept to manufacturing
• Familiarity with design controls and quality systems (requirements, risk, V&V)

Responsibilities

• Own hardware architecture for subsystems (mechanics, electronics, integration)
• Translate product requirements into hardware specs and plans
• Lead a small hardware team; provide technical guidance and reviews
• Drive design, bring‑up, verification, and DFx activities with cross‑functional teams
• Plan hardware testing, data review, and iteration on failures
• Support DFMA with manufacturing and suppliers to scale from prototype to production
