Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer for a well-established high-tech manufacturing client in Victoria, BC. The position involves working with highly challenging, novel, and world-leading technology, including complex electrical circuits, custom ASIC/ASSP, embedded controllers, and FPGA-based logic, with systems that supply high voltage for sensors.

Responsibilities

1. Specification, design, implementation, and validation of detector analog and digital electronics
2. Performing SPICE simulation and signal integrity analysis on detector module designs to identify gaps and improve designs
3. Debugging and troubleshooting detector modules in the field, including emissions issues
4. Board and module level integration of electronic components such as FPGAs, microprocessors, memories, and ASICs
5. Contributing to product improvements, including cost reduction, yield enhancement, reliability, and customer value addition
6. Identifying emerging technologies to maintain a leadership position for next-generation applications
7. Creating clear technical documentation leveraging PLM data structures
8. Performing additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering, engineering physics, or equivalent
2. Minimum of 7 years designing electronic circuits
3. Strong fundamentals and experience in analog design and SPICE simulation
4. Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout
5. Experience designing power supply, high voltage, and isolation circuits
6. Experience with signal integrity analysis of analog and digital signals
7. Experience troubleshooting circuits and boards
8. Experience with high-speed digital circuits
