Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) is seeking a Senior Groundwater Modeler to lead complex hydrogeological projects for clients in Canada and abroad, including Australia and the Americas. You will mentor colleagues and contribute to business development and client service while advancing modeling capabilities.

The role requires a strong background in numerical groundwater modeling, 3D conceptual models, and collaboration with a senior team. Travel to project sites is expected; hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Hydrogeology, ideally with numerical groundwater modeling emphasis.
• Registered as a P.Geo or P.Eng with Engineers and Geoscientists.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling using numerical methods (finite difference/finite element).
• Experience with 3D hydrogeological conceptual models using Surfer, Leapfrog and EVS.
• Experience developing and managing codes/scripts in Python and FloPy, FORTRAN, or similar.
• Spanish proficiency is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel domestically and overseas.
• Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the SLR team on hydrogeological projects in Canada, Australia, and South America.
• Develop and refine groundwater flow and contaminant transport models with input from senior staff.
• Review and interpret groundwater-related data as part of conceptual and numerical modeling.
• Develop 3D hydrogeological conceptual models using designated software.
