Job summary

Ocho is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fast-moving, AI-native platform. You will design and build core services in Go within a distributed, cloud-native architecture, coordinating thousands of containerised agents in parallel.

This high-autonomy role offers meaningful ownership from design through production and collaboration with ML/AI teams. You will work remotely across Canada with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production Go engineering experience.
• Strong background in distributed systems and microservices.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Experience building and consuming event-driven systems such as Kafka or NATS.
• Good grounding in cloud platforms, ideally AWS or GCP.
• Track record of owning services end-to-end.
• Clear communication across engineering, product and AI teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, high-throughput backend services in Go.
• Architect distributed systems coordinating stateless, containerised agents at scale.
• Build APIs and event-driven pipelines for real-time diagnostics and reporting.
• Own reliability, performance, and observability across your services.
• Collaborate with ML/AI teams to bring model outputs into production workflows.
• Take services end to end from design through production rollout.
• Contribute to architecture reviews and engineering standards.
