Job summary

McKesson in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Chief Legal Counsel to lead strategic labour and employment law initiatives for Canada and international matters. The role reports to the Associate General Counsel and collaborates with HR and business leaders to ensure compliant practices and proactive policy development.

The position includes managing outside counsel, handling employment litigation, and advising on mergers, acquisitions, and enterprise projects while upholding ICARE and LEADRx values

Qualifications

• Law degree from a recognized university.
• Member of the Ontario Bar.
• 10+ years of employment law experience.
• Minimum of 6 years in a strategic legal role within health or retail sectors or comparable experience preferred.
• Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic counsel on employment and labour law issues while aligning with business objectives.
• Lead and manage outside counsel in employment litigation.
• Collaborate with HR, Compliance and business leaders to develop policies, templates and procedures.
• Draft settlements related to employment litigation and advise on undertakings in mergers and acquisitions.
• Support international employment and labour matters including coordination with local counsel.
