Job description

Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Senior)

This role leads geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for multidisciplinary infrastructure, energy, and development projects across Western Canada. It involves managing medium to large projects from planning and budgeting through execution and client engagement, evaluating geotechnical challenges such as settlement, liquefaction, slope stability, and excavation design, preparing and reviewing technical reports and construction documentation, leading field programs and construction QA/QC activities, and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for multidisciplinary infrastructure, energy, and development projects.
  • Manage medium to large projects from planning and budgeting through execution and client engagement.
  • Evaluate geotechnical challenges including settlement, liquefaction, slope stability, and excavation design.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, design briefs, and construction documentation.
  • Lead field programs and construction QA/QC activities, including site investigations and testing programs.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Geological, or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience, including leadership roles in complex, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia (or eligibility for registration).
  • Proven project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Advanced proficiency with industry‑standard geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, or equivalent tools.
  • Valid BC driver’s licence.
Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 – $138,000
  • MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94,100 – $124,900
